Been Away Awhile

Hi all, I've been away a while -- working, reading alot, and mostly mourning people who have recently passed. Before that I was traveling a lot, presenting work. I'm planning a tiny comeback for the blog. Today I am wrapping up the semester, getting things in order at work, reflecting on where I've been. Every couple of years, when I'm in this mood, I look for the people in my past. Today I think I found my very first friend, whom I haven't seen since 1979. When I've tried to find her or her family before I've always ended up with others by the same name. But today all the cities in which I know to search for traces of her life are matching up: Palo Alto, Lima, Monterrey.
